Cat Stevens-Yusuf Believes He Can Help Build Bridges Between Cultures With Peace and Music

Cat Stevens-Yusuf Believes He Can Help Build Bridges Between Cultures With Peace and Music and over 30 years later…”Peace Train” is still the big hit at Baby Boomer Cat Stevens- Yusuf concert.
Cat Stevens-Yusuf, 60, was the hottest ticket in town. At his latest concert at the El Rey Theater, which was by invitation only.
It was a star studded concert…Colin Farrell, Michelle Branch, Josh Groban and Chris Isaak (the latter accompanied by his manager’s dog, Rodney) were all at the by invitation only concert.
Yusuf is not the dark haired, sexy folk singer he was when we were protesting Viet Nam and being flower children. Now he is gray haired and still the sexy, folk singer we remember him to be.
To read the interview that he gave CNN News, the link is below.
Yusuf, formerly known by all Baby Boomers as Cat Stevens, believes he can help bridge gaps between cultures.
It was the legendary folk singer’s first L.A. show since 1976. That’s 33 years…but who is counting and the audience still loved him and gave him a heartfelt “welcome back.” We need peace now just as much as we needed it back in the 60’s and 70’s, perhaps more so.
He played for just over an hour, giving the audience a taste of his new album, with half a dozen songs from his new album, “Roadsinger,” plus a few gems from the ’60s and ’70s. It was “Peace Train” that elicited a singalong, with the entire room participating in the song’s signature hand claps.
Baby Boomer or not everyone will be able to “get” Cat Stevens-Yusuf. Any one can ride the “peace Train.”
