Saudi Judge OKs Slapping Wives For Spending Lavishly-Thank Goodness this is not allowed in the United States.
In Saudi Arabia, husbands are now allowed to slap their wives if they spend lavishly. This came out of a domestic violence seminar in Saudi Arabia. A Saudi judge justifies this action to Saudi husbands.
Arab News, a Saudi English language daily newspaper based in Riyadh, reported that Judge Hamad Al-Razine stated that, “if a person gives SR 1,200 [$320] to his wife and she spends 900 riyals ($240) to purchase an abaya (the black cover that women in Saudi Arabia must wear) from a brand shop and if her husband slaps her on the face as a reaction to her action, she deserves that punishment.”
As expected, women in the audience immediately and loudly protested Judge Al-Razine’s statement. They were stunned to learn the remarks came from a judge.
Saudi Judge OKs Slapping Wives For Spending Lavishly and Arab News reported that Judge Al-Razine made his remark as he was attempting to explain why incidents of domestic violence had increased in Saudi Arabia. He stated that women and men shared responsibility, but added that “nobody puts even a fraction of blame” on the men, the newspaper reported.
Judge Al-Razine also stated that, “women’s indecent behavior and use of offensive words against their husbands were some of the reasons for domestic violence in the country.”
Domestic violence, which used to be a taboo subject in the conservative nation, has become a hot topic in recent years, as Saudi womens’ rights groups have campaigned to educate the public about the still and increasing problem.
Forget that most Saudi wives are not allowed to work and have any money of their own.

Of course those said zio folk will forget to mention the astronomical levels of spousal abuse in their own backyard.
I’m muslim, contrary to what the oh so terribly concerned bloggers will tell you, my dad has never laid a finger on my mom, and if he ever did you can bet my gran would be around in an instant to hand his ass to him.
But of course spending a minute reading comments about islam from these newly outraged “bloggers”, my dad must be an “infidel” because he doesn’t beat my mom.

My first husband was a Muslim. He never laid a hand on me and nor do I think that he ever entertained such an idea.
So, I guess that information ought to stop you from pointing a righteous finger at me.
What applauded me was that the Judge executed such a judgment against women.
America is a host of mixed cultures, but the key word is mixed.
Don’t feel like Muslims are the only culture I point fingers at…if you had searched through my blog you would see that any form of abuse is where I draw the line in the sand, with my big toe.
