The Cadaver That Dogs Found Near The Zinkhan Jeep Believed To Be Zinkhan-A body found in woods near Athens, Georgia, fits the description of a University of Georgia professor accused of killing three people, according to authorities.

George Zinkhan, 56, a professor at the University of Georgia, disappeared after killing his wife and two others.

“In general, the body fits the description of the individual we are looking for,” Athens-Clarke County Police Chief Joseph “Jack” Lumpkin stated at an afternoon news conference.

Cadaver dogs searching for George Zinkhan discovered the body about 1.3 miles from where Zinkhan’s red Jeep Liberty was found on May 1st, 2009, authorities stated.

The Cadaver That Dogs Found Near The Zinkhan Jeep Believed To Be Zinkhan and the body was found “beneath the earth,” Lumpkin stated, in a tract of land near an elementary school.

Zinkhan, 56, is suspected of shooting his wife and two other people to death last month at a community theater in Athens, Georgia.

The body was concealed, the statement stated. The body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation laboratory near Atlanta for identification, according to the police.

Authorities identified the dead from the April 25th, 2009, shooting as Marie Bruce, 47, Zinkhan’s wife and a prominent Athens attorney; Tom Tanner, 40; and Ben Teague, 63.

The victims all were associated with the Town and Gown Players, a theater group that was holding a reunion picnic at the time of the shootings, when George Zinkhan came in and began shooting.

Police say that Zinkhan arrived while the Town and Gown event was under way and got into a disagreement with his wife. Police believe he went to his car, where the couple’s children apparently were waiting and returned with two handguns. In addition to the three deaths, two other people were wounded.

After the shooting, Zinkhan left with his children, ages 8 and 10, in the car,and then he drove to a neighbor’s home in nearby Bogart, Georgia, where he lived, and left the children with the neighbor.

Authorities put out bulletins across the nation for Zinkhan after the shootings. They also found that he  had purchased a May 2nd, 2009, ticket, back in March to the Netherlands, where he owns a house.
The day of the flight passed without any sign of Zinkhan, showing up.

He had been an endowed marketing professor at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. However, the university fired Zinkhan the day after the shootings.

My question is how did the body get buried? Did he bury himself and shot himself?

UPDATE: The authorities confirm that the body found by the cadaver dogs, is that of George Zinkham. The body was naked and found with two guns. The guns believed to be those of the shooting on April 25th, 2009. Apparently, Zinkhan did not want to be found or identified as he had buried his self.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to all of the families and friends of those who have been lost.

Yep, for you simpletons, we are now going to see this one on the next CSI Vegas- The case of the guy who buried himself in a concealed grave by himself….Give me a break people! These idiots on the news can’t figure out what questions to ask much less report an actual story. Investigative reporters are a dead breed. So here’s some help:
Why did the prof bring two guns with him along with his children, to the scene of the murders? Why was he arguing with the wife? Did the 2 wounded positively identify the prof as the shooter? The Ticket to Norway – purchased before or after the murders, where purchased and by whom? Bodies don’t get put into concealed graves without help–who buried and perhaps killed him? Why is he dead? Why is his wife and 2 others dead, and 2 more wounded? What is their connection and relation to the Town and Gown event?

i honestly believe the suspects should be the guys who are still alive!! what a f!@!#N coincidence…. y aren’t they dead? everything seems 2 clean..the naked body with no clothes…and the murder weapons? this is a very professional job…

  4. Purple Tentacle says:

    So now…

Was the professor the one who killed those people?

Someone went to an awful lot of trouble to dispose of the professor in such a way that it would be believed he was still out there.

One hopes the authorities will revisit the people who claim to be witnesses to this violence and investigate the case more fully.

  5. Zinkhan walks into a party argues with his wife…
Goes out to his jeep where his children are gets two guns…
Goes back in to the party kills his wife, two others and injures two more…
Takes his kids to a neighbor
    and flees…
    Premeditated, yes…professional no…
    Just my opinion.
I am only thankful that he decided not to kill his children.
