Louisiana Lawyer-Chiquita Tate Stabbed 38 Times and police think that it was the husband, Gregg Harris was the man who stabbed her in her office on February 20th, 2009.

Gregg Harris, 37, is in custody, accused of stabbing his wife of 14 months, Chiquita Tate, 34, to death. He is charged with second degree murder and the illegal use of a dangerous weapon. A judge last week set his bond at $500,000.

There are allegations of spouse abuse or domestic violence on December 22, 2007, incident at the couple’s home. Harris was accused of using “force and violence” against his wife, Chiquita, according to Baker City Court records. Harris entered a not guilty plea on March 6, 2008, but did not appear for a May 8 pretrial conference. A warrant was issued for his arrest for contempt of court.

There seemed to be trouble in paradise as Chiquita was “planning on divorcing the defendant due to marital problems” and had leased her own apartment.

Is it a case of not being able to let go or was it someone she was defending or even perhaps someone she wasn’t defending? Stabbing someone 38 times is definitely an act of personal violence.
