Is Saskatchewan Canada The New Hot Spot-For Canadian Baby Boomers

Is Saskatchewan Canada The New Hot Spot-For Canadian Baby Boomers, even though most of Canada is suffering from devastating job losses, this chilly province could be exactly that. It has been said, that “hot spot” isn’t the first phrase that comes to mind when talking about Saskatchewan, Canada. But new statistics might just change the way you think about this lovely thriving area.
According to Premier Brad Wall, Saskatchewan, Canada, isĀ a shinning star to the entire country when it comes to the economic climate and he is shouting it as loud as he can.
“It’s a great time to come to Saskatchewan,” said Wall, who even called the Toronto Star newspaper to reveal in Saskatchewan, Canada’s economic success and let Canadians know there were jobs for the taking.
“For those who are losing their jobs, we need them to know we have thousands of jobs open right now in both the private and public sector,” Wall said. “We have a powerful story to tell, a story of success and that’s something we want to share with those who are struggling.”

Beware of the political hype. Jobs here are for low paid service and labour or for entry level trades positions(or entry level pay for senior trades positions!)
Our industries here are on the foreign worker bandwagon (as are other provinces) in order to get cheap labour. I know foreign people that live six in an apartment to survive. Average house prices are above 300K and a production welder will get $14 or $16 an hour.
Fully qualified pressure welders in Sask may get $30 – $34 if you are lucky, union or get a Government job. Most places want to pay less than $30 and I have been offered $15 for pressure welding.
Non union construction jobs in Alberta pay $40 hour Union are $50 hour.
Contrary to what they say it costs just as much to live ib Sask as other provinces.
Yes it has been reported that Saskatchewan is booming however before one would even consider this booing hot spot. Take into consideration the climate in that province. The winters are extremely cold sub zero F temps are the norm with cold snaps the last a very long time.
However on the brighter side Saskatchewan has a little known secret contained within it’s borders. That being Lake Manitou which is a salt water lake that is in fact denser than the Dead Sea. So to fight off the extreme cold one could resort to a day of pampering at the one of the spas. Their are in fact several salt water lakes in Saskatchewan. However it is way to flat a province for my liking.
Saskatchewan also has more hospital beds per person than any other province in Canada. So should one get frost bite at least the care would available to you.
