Pet Chimp Attacks Woman After Using House Key to Escape
A likeable, but known to be moody, pet chimp attacks woman that he knew for years after she got out of her car to help her friend get him back inside the house.
Travis, had been a long time pet of Sandy Herold and was treated like a member of the family. The chimp was known to eat at the dinner table, drink wine, and watch baseball on television while using the remote.
It was these skills that also allowed Travis to find the house key and escape. When friend of the family Charla Nash tried to help get him back in the house, the chimp violently attacked her and not even stab wounds from the owner got the 200 pound ape to stop.
When police arrived on the scene, the chimp ripped off a police car mirror and then opened their door. Police then shot Travis who stumbled back into the house and soon died from his stab and gunshot wounds.
Some people don’t realize the power of a chimp, or the fact that they can attack with both their hands and feet at the same time. It’s literally like fighting two men at once. Unfortunately, doctors don’t believe that the victim of the attack will survive.

a CNN commentator made a good point about the impossibility of ever truly domesticating a wild animal, no matter how much a person might want it to to be domesticated
What makes me really ill this animal is in endangered and they are not pets. These are wild but us humans think everything is pet and that is just not right at all.
Now her friend might be dying because she called her for help that should not have happened because this innocent animal gave her a problem before that to me put that big red flag up a pole for me he needed to taken away from her right away and this would have never happened. But look at who had to pay for this mistake an innocent animal that was under such stress that he had to act out in such away that another person was so badly hurt.
None of this needed to happen NONE OF THIS and that is a fact.
MAY GOD BLESS HIS INNOCENT ANIMAL NOW AND FOREVER AS I AM SURE HE WILL!!!
