Satsuma Florida 5 Year Old Disappears From Bed

A Satsuma Florida 5 Year Old Disappears From Bed while under her Fathers girlfriends care.
More than 130 law enforcement personnel from several local and state agencies are searching for a 5 year old girl, who disappeared from her home in Satsuma, before dawn Tuesday, February 10Th, 2009.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings was last seen at 10 p.m. Monday when her father’s girlfriend put her to bed at their home on Green Lane, off Buffalo Bluff Road.
Deputies and state officers from at least five agencies searched the area and the nearby St. Johns River.
Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, told local Channel 4 there was no doubt in his mind that she was abducted and he’ll do anything to get her back. He continued stating that Haleigh is afraid of the dark and there’s no way she would have gone out in the middle of the night by herself. “I came home this morning to find that I didn’t have a child. Somebody stole my child.”
Putnam County deputies began a search of the area at 3:30 a.m. after the girlfriend found the girl missing and Cummings came home from working a night shift. They found back door of their mobile home open and promptly called authorities by dialing 911.
Harleigh Ann Marie Cummings has been put in the Amber Alert system.
“When you’re dealing with a child of this young of an age along with the time frame that the child has been gone, that elevates it to a higher level and that causes us a little more of a concern for the welfare and safety of the child,” Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Steve Rose said.
Rose said that while they have no reason to suspect foul play, deputies went door to door and searched cars leaving the neighborhood and contacted known sex offenders in the area to establish their whereabouts. They also brought a K-9 unit in to track any leads.
“Whoever has the child is not supposed to have the child at this point,” Putnam County Detective John Merchant said during an afternoon news conference.
Neighboring counties of St. Johns and Volusia sent resources to help find little Harleigh and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has contributed two boats and a helicopter to assist with the search. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office search boat is also helping out on the water ways.
Late afternoon, authorities announced that the FBI was sending a team to join the investigation.
Haleigh Ann-Marie Cunningham’s description is:
blond hair
brown eyes
3 feet tall
weighs 39 pounds
She was last seen in the Hermit’s Cove area of Satsuma wearing a pink shirt and underwear.
At the time of her disappearance, a 2 year old and a 17 year old cousin were also sleeping in the same bedroom as Haleigh. Both were reported as safe and detectives said the 17 year old teenager was not able to help with any information about what happened to Haleigh.
Haleigh’s birth mother, who lives in south Georgia has arrived in Satsuma on Tuesday and is cooperating in the search.
Authorities ask anyone with any information to call the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office at 386-329-0800 or the FDLE’s Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse at
1-888-FL-MISSING.
“Please call and give information to the police department,” Cummings said. “I just want my child back.”

This entire story smells to high heaven and that is fact.
That babysitter had something to do with this and she will start talking soon because seventeen year old children do not know how to keep secrets.
All I want to happen is find her and find her well and happy and that is a fact.
MAY GOD BLESS THIS INNOCENT CHILD AND KEEP HER SAFE FROM EVERYTHING NOW AND FOREVER AS I AM SURE HE WILL!!!
I think that the 17 year old, passed her ploygraph because actually she didn’t have anything, to do with the childs disapearance directly. I think she was keeping company with one or more Male friends while her boyfriend was a work and she is to scared to tell. I also believe that just maybe one of those male friends had his eye on the child, and maybe he snuck to the back when she didn;t know it and unlocked the door, so he could come back late rin the night this makes since because he would know where the child slept if he is there late at night seeing the girlfried. I believe that if they put the squeez on her and start to chech out some people that they are aquanted with and that have been to their house, when they go to find an interview these people there will be a male missing because that will be who took that baby. This is such a sad case for everyone I am a Criminal Justice student and I have been thinking about this case I believe my theory could very well be right, that is why she could pass the polygraph she don’t know what happened, but it very well could be exactly what I said she was keeping one or more male friends cheating on her boyfriend. Maybe she didn’t know one of them was actually capable of molesting or taking a child but I think one oof them did…..
The time frame that we are in right now with this childs abduction, it tells us nothing but the worse. I am heart broken about this and the more time that goes by only the worse can be expected. I still haven’t gotten over the Calie deal it was very sad and now another child. I can only hope that Casey the mother of little Callie and the person that took this child gets the toughest sentence they can be given. asey needs the death penalty and I hope she gets it.
I feel that the 17 year old girlfriend is hiding something. I think that the cinder block found holding open the screen door seems strange to me. I don’t know if it was deliberate or accident, but I feel the girlfriend had something to do with it. I hope I ‘m wrong and they find the little girl unharmed. I’m praying for the family.
Good theory Linda…I must admit the same thing passed through my mind too.
There is certainly a skunk in the wood pile.
That cinder block is the giveaway…the Dad says no one has used that door.
That 17 year old needs to tell all and should have from instant one.
I am sure that the police are on her like white on rice, ugly on a monkey and skin on a banana.
They should have gone over the phone calls and the computer…some neighbor has to have seen something. Before or after…
Poor little girl and I can not even imagine what the family is going through.
Sincerely,
Sharon
