How To Make A Strawberry Smoothie Recipe for Year Round Delight

How To Make A Strawberry Smoothie Recipe for Year Round Delight is really quite easy. Banana smoothie and the strawberry smoothie are surely the most popular smoothies. Strawberries are now available for most of the year due to the global marketplace and supermarkets importing fruit from around the world. Plus there is the frozen strawberry. They are already cleaned and prepared and ready to use and will keep your smoothie even colder using frozen fruit.
If you are unable to get hold of fresh strawberries then frozen strawberries can be substituted into the recipe. The recipe uses live yogurt which contains friendly bacteria that benefit your lower digestive system. If your better half is asking for something a bit richer then you can substitute a good quality ice cream into the recipe instead of the yogurt. For a compromise try half yogurt, half ice cream. They might not be able to tell the difference.
Strawberries are a good source of vitamin C and A. They are also a good source of the minerals calcium, potassium and phosphorus. And have antioxidants.
INGREDIENTS:
1 PINT or basket of strawberries…or one carton of frozen strawberries
1 1/2 cups of live vanilla/natural yogurt OR 1 1/2 cups of vanilla or strawberry ice cream…there is yogurt ice cream…
1 cup of blended apple and juice
Handful of crushed ice
INSTRUCTIONS:
If using fresh strawberries, wash and remove their stalks. For full flavor the strawberries should be at room temperature, storing strawberries in the fridge might lose some of their flavor.
Juice the apples in your juicer or if you haven’t got a juicer then you can use store apple juice.
Place the yogurt (or ice cream if you are feeling indulgent) and 1/4 of the apple juice in your blender, switch on and then add the ice and strawberries and blend until smooth. Finally add the rest of the apple juice and blend briefly until it is thoroughly blended into the smoothie.
Vary the amount of apple juice depending on how thick you like your smoothies to be. The longer you blend the mixture the more air will be introduced into the drink and oxidation of nutrients will occur more rapidly. Especially with apples.
Drink immediately and enjoy! There are many things you can add to this recipe…wheat germ is one I would suggest. I like oats as well. Any fruits can be used for a smoothie. You can even make vegetable smoothies. Use honey as a sweetner and more ice and less juice for a thicker smoothie.
Don’t forget to put your acai berry tablets or juice into your smoothie. It is a good way to give you a pick-me-up in the afternoon
As you can see it is not hard to learn How To Make A Strawberry Smoothie Recipe for Year Round Delight. Good health and good dieting…
