10 Year Old Fresno Boy Dies After Brutal Beating That Mom Allowed and Watched. A horrible title, but true. Seth Ireland was brutally beaten, kicked and stomped on December 29, 2008, while his Mother, Rena Ireland, 40, calmly sat by and watched her son being beaten, stomped and kicked to an inch of his life, by her boyfriend, LeBaron Vaughn, 32.
Little Seth Ireland, only 10 years old, was pronounced dead Tuesday morning at Community Regional Medical Center, eight days after his beating by Vaughn. No medical assistance was given him during that time, so he must have suffered horribly. Seth was beaten and kicked on December 29Th, 2008. These injuries were the cause of his death, ending his short life.
LeBaron Vaughn, and the boy’s mother, Rena Ireland have been arrested and are facing some serious charges in the case. 10 days too late if you as me…unfortunate, is the fact that this could have probably been prevented as Child protective services launched a child abuse investigation back in August, after receiving several referrals that Seth’s life could be in severe danger.
Investigators couldn’t gather any conclusive evidence that the child was being abused, which made it legally impossible to remove him from the home.
I wonder if the other siblings had to watch while this was taking place. Watching their Mother sit by and do nothing to save him, while her boyfriend beat him almost to death. Poor children to have such a Mother.
According to authorities, LeBaron Vaughn says after losing control, he elbowed and punched the boy in the face and chest at least 10 times and when the boy fell to the ground, Vaughn says he violently kicked the boy’s legs and body, then proceeded to stomp on his head with his size 13 shoe. Where was the Mother the whole time this was going on? The whole time this was happening to her son, Rena Ireland just sat by and watched.
Little Seth Ireland had three other siblings. Today for their protection, they were removed from the home, two have been placed in foster care, the other child with a family member.
Too many children are slipping through the cracks. Children deserve more…they deserve better protection from their abusers.
No Mother should watch while their child is getting beaten to death. Other than little Seth losing his life, that is the saddest part of “10 Year Old Fresno Boy Dies After Brutal Beating That Mom Allowed and Watched.” That a Mother could sit by and allow that to happen right before her eyes and not lift A FINGER.

i am so sick that every day you pick up a paper, web sites, news or even family telling you of some poor child some where in a city, big, small. rich, poor of some poor innocent child or children being abused, murdered and even abducted. what in the hell is going on with these parents? this jerk and the mother should get the same treatment done to them to see how it feels. you know these poor children who look up to their parents to protect them and it’s the child who needs protection from the parents who brought them into this world. how sad.
