Having been a food alcoholic for half of my life I think I qualify to talk to you about dieting. I have been on the diet yo-yo for years. For years, I was out of control. So was what I ate, when I ate and how much I ate.

There was one natural weight loss diet that did work for me. One that empowered me and one that I would lose weight with.

The PUSH YOUR SELF AWAY FROM THE TABLE DIET. That’s right…eat good, eat healthy, eat smaller portions and then get up and walk away from the table. Plus drink lots of water and last but not least get your butt up and move around…

How is this diet going to empower you?

Smaller intake of food means less calories.
Eating foods that are good for you…verses take out or a a big slab of red velvet cake…you do the math. I took all of my “forbidden” food to the food banks. They needed it more than I did. There is no temptation if it isn’t there and you will feel good about giving it to the now needy food banks.


Eating healthy foods will lower your fat and caloric intake.Even your body will love this, as you will not be making it work as hard. Plus, your body will start living off your stored fat and make you lose inches as well as pounds. Make sure those healthy foods are the right proportions. A meat serving should be no bigger than the size of your fist. Eat more fruits and vegetables then meat. You need 5 to 8 fruits and vegetables a day.

Drink lots of water…our bodies are mostly liquids. Drinking water will help flush out toxins. Keep that stomach full, making it easier not to crave food, especially bad food that is going to set you up for failure in reaching your goal. Stay away from diet sodas they will actually make you gain weight not lose weight and are not good for your new healthy body. Make your own fruit juices. If you don’t like fruit and vegetables, they can count as a fruit or vegetable serving. The store juices are mostly sugar, corn syrup or even sugar alcohol. Plus they are in the inside, tabu isles. When in doubt, read the labels.

Get up and moving around will burn more calories. Even walking…you love to shop…go walking in the mall. And here is another weight loss tip for you…do not shop on the inside isles of the grocery store. That is where the diet tabu food is. Only walk around the outside isles of the store. That is where the food is that you should be eating. Fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, chickens, dairy (run past the bakery!). Walk around the outside twice to burn more calories. Malls and grocery stores are safe places to walk.

The more you move or exercise the more calories you burn. The more weight loss you will have. The more heart healthy it is.

Take baby steps if you have too. Remember, your first baby steps were never forgotten by your parents. Don’t forget your first diet baby steps. Write them down. They are very important on your way to better health and a long life. Write BBAC and tell us what your first baby diet steps were…

    I lost weight without counting a single calorie – about 50 lbs in 6 months :) All it took was cutting out all the sugar, eating healthy stuff like veggies & whole grains and balanced meals, and finding the motivation to exercise :) Just doing those things I think made the calories naturally less, as well as helping burn them off when I worked out :)
