Snowzilla Reappears In Anchorage. That’s right Baby Boomer, Snowzilla, a giant snowman has mysteriously reappeared in Anchorage again this year. What’s the big deal you ask? Well, it seems that he has reappeared despite the city’s cease and desist order. Over a snow man…that cracks the Baby Boomer Queen up! Where is your Christmas spirit, neighbors?
Some how, Snowzilla, the giant reappeared in Billy Powers’ front yard, in east Anchorage. Snowzilla magically reappeared before dawn, on Tuesday.
How ever, Billy Power is not taking credit. When questioned on Tuesday afternoon, he insisted Snowzilla just somehow happened, again. Is it a Holiday Miracle? I think so…
Here’s The Story
For the last three years, Snowzilla, to the delight of many and the chagrin of not so many, has been a very large feature in Powers’ yard.
In 2005, Snowzilla rose 16 feet. He had a corncob pipe and a carrot nose and two eyes made out of beer bottles (which kind, wasn’t mention). I have seen picture of Snowzilla in 2004, so I am not sure that is correct…
This year, 2008, Snowzilla is the biggest ever SNOWZILLA and is estimated to be about 25 feet tall. He’s wearing a black stovepipe hat and scarf. Quite the Snowzilla Dandy, I must say.
“Have you seen him?” Powers asked when contacted for comment by telephone, at his home, the sound of excited children in the background. “He’s handsome.”
Snowzilla has consistently risen outside of the Powers’ home. His children all seven of them, collected snow from neighbors’ yards to make the snowman big enough. Each year, Snowzilla got a bit bigger, as did the children.
Not everybody in the neighborhood likes all the cars and visitors who came to see Snowzilla. But face it, Snowzilla can’t last forever. After all he is a snowman. Next years Snowzilla…I hope he is over 25 feet tall and he gets a girlfriend! It must be lonely all by your self…out there in the cold.
