The Top 7 Daily Activities for Baby Boomers-To Prevent Frailty and Disabilities

Here are The Top 7 Daily Activities for Baby Boomers-To Prevent Frailty and Disabilities. The Key is to implement them every day.
Everyone I know wants to live a long time—if they can stay sharp mentally and physically.
No one I know wants to grow up to be frail.
There are simple steps you can do daily to maintain your independence, and you may be overlooking many of them.
1.
Breathe Fully
Every day spend at least one minute taking conscious breaths that fill your abdomen and chest. Focus on extending your exhale by using your pelvic floor and belly muscles. Your breath is the source for every chemical reaction in your body and a major regulator of your energy.
2.
Explore Your Range Of Motion
Move all ten fingers, your wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, toes, and spine in a gentle way, which will lubricate your joints and keep your body from getting stiff. The saying, “Use is or lose it,” applies here.
3.
Avoid Movements That Cause Or Increase Pain
If bending over to load the dishwasher causes soreness in your back or getting up from the table causes a pain in your hip, learn to do these movements in a different way. Repetitive pain usually means repetitive injury. Avoid it whenever you can.
4.
Squat
Sit down on your haunches to strengthen your leg muscles and stretch your back. If you can’t sit down that far, practice squatting down to a chair and then go lower and lower a bit at a time each month. If you can squat, then you can get up from a chair without pushing off with your arms.
5.
Stand on one leg
Every time you take a step or walk up a stair, one leg has to bear your entire body’s weight. Keep this strength by standing on one leg for as long as you can. Challenge yourself by bending your knee a bit, too. Of course, do this on both sides.
6.
Move with variety
Do something that you didn’t do yesterday. The more innovative you are, the more you will strengthen and stretch a variety of muscles. When was the last time you crawled over the couch or under the table? How about doing a crab walk? Children are limber, because they constantly move with variety. Old people feel old when they limit their movements.
7.
Hug somebody
Connection to other living beings including animals softens our bodies as it softens our hearts.
These are easy things you can do that will add durability to your body, but they need to be done regularly to be effective. Don’t let the ease fool you. This is exactly how children maintain their physical fitness. Remember: the opposite of old and frail is young and vigorous.
