Laura Bush Killed A Guy-When She was 17 In 1963

The Internet is all a-buz about ‘Laura Bush Killed A Guy’…well…that got my attention.

‘Laura Bush Killed A Guy’ on the evening of the 6Th of November, 1963, two days after her 17Th birthday. Laura Welch failed to stop her Chevy sedan at a stop sign and smashed into a Corvair being driven by a school classmate, Michael Douglas, who was also 17. Michael Douglas’s father was following him at the time and saw his son get killed right before his very eyes. Both cars were going about 50 miles per hour when Laural Welch hit Micheal Douglas, broadside in his Corvair. I have included a picture of the car so you will know that Corvairs were not big cars and were not made like tanks, like most cars, were at that time.

Laura Bush (aka/Laura Welch) and her passenger, Judy Dykes, were going to a party at 8:30 at night. The roads and visibility were clear. And for those of you have never been to Midland Texas, there isn’t much there. It is straight land lots of sand, heat and tumbleweed and oil wells.  Both Laura and Judy were treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital, where they learned that Douglas had died from his injuries.

It is said, that there was no drugs or alcohol involved according…but since no police charges were apparently filed…or the paperwork from the accident is missing (go figure)…or unclear…the details of the incident are a bit of a mystery. Laura Bush’s family were what one would call very prominent in the area.

For those of you not in the US…Laura Welch is married to U. S. president George W.Bush and is known around the world as Laura Bush. The story made national news during the presidential election of 2000, but little new information came to light. At the time her spokesman, Andrew Malcolm, said “To this day Mrs. Bush remains unable to talk about it.”

Now I can not imagine killing someone in a vehicular homicide. I don’t think I would ever be able to drive again. Perhaps it explains the smile that Laura Bush has on her face constantly. Sometimes she reminds me of the Joker on Batman. Even when the President was giving his condolences to the people of India for the horrific Mumbai terrorist incident, there she was by his side, with that smile on. Did any of you Baby Boomers ever read “Stepford Wives” or see the movie? Oh dear, there I go getting off the subject…any who…

There was much controversy at the time about Laura Bush and her relationship  with Michael Douglas.
There are some that say she say him coming and plowed into him because they had recently broken up.
There are those that say it was an accident.
But, there are none who say she was held accountable for her actions of killing someone with a car.

I am sure that there are those of you out there that say “come on Baby Boomer Queen, it was just a teen tragedy. Accidents happen.” You are right they do and most people are held accountable for when they happen. Laura Welch Bush, was not one of those people.

But one thing for sure, we will never know because there was a cover up. And now here she is Laura Bush getting ready to leave the White House. Getting ready to start a new life. But, remember this…it is a life that Michael Douglas never had a chance to have.

There has always been three sets of values for Americans.

Those for the poor.

Those for the middle class.

Those for the affluent…the elite, if they be rich, famous or family members of the rich and famous…even sports figures, they fall into this category.

Laura Bush had just turned 17 in 1967. She was driving a car and Laura Bush killed a guy, a classmate, an x-boyfriend.  She never went to court over the incident. She was never held accountable for the lost of a young man. That is more than a teen tragedy.
