Sen. Hillary Clinton accepts the position as Secretary of State and joins the Obama Dream Team. Once rivals, no more. Hillary Clinton joins her Democratic rival’s team. She is quoted as wanting to become part of the “greatest adventure of our century.”
Her acceptance speech of that position was held in Chicago, Illinois and started off with a President Kennedy quote. “President Kennedy once said that engaging the world to meet the threats we face was the greatest adventure of our century. Well, Mr. President-elect, I am proud to join you on what will be a difficult and exciting adventure in this new century.”
Sen. Hillary Clinton accepts the position of Secretary of State and promises to work to restore America’s position as “a force for positive change” in the world.
During the news conference, Mr. Obama called Hilary Clinton a woman of “extraordinary intelligence and toughness” who will “command respect in every capital.”
President Bill Clinton has also stated that he was “deeply proud” that Obama has chosen his wife to be Secretary of State.
