Some health experts say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it “boosts your metabolism.” Confession: I did not use to be one of those people. Especially being a night owl…who ever got up that early? But, my eating habits have changed. Now, I know the importance of breakfast.

Here are three really Smart Start reasons or rules, to why you should know ‘the importance of breakfast.’

1. Breakfast starts you out on the right foot. Many believe that if you don’t start your day with a good breakfast, it sets a poor precedent. Your mind starts down that worn path of, “Oh well, I’ve already blown it, I may as well eat whatever I want.”

So, Rule #1…wake up on time. Eat the breakfast that is on your meal plan, and you’ll have a better chance of sticking to your daily plan. That is the importance of breakfast.

2. Dieters, who eat breakfast tend to maintain their weight loss better than those who don’t.

So, Rule #2…Eat breakfast to keep weight off. That is the importance of breakfast.

3. Eating breakfast can help you eat less. Bless those researchers who have found that people who eat a high fiber breakfast tends to reduce the amount of food they eat the rest of the day. They call it the “first meal effect.”

So, Rule #3…Eat high fiber breakfast foods to full you up. That is the importance of breakfast.

There you go Baby Boomers, three good Start Mart rules why you should eat breakfast.

The Mayo Clinic says that eating breakfast can help fight depression.

Breakfast is the Most Important Meal of the Day and a healthy lifestyle is really just a matter of making simple lifestyle choices. So, remember that part of the importance of breakfast is eating a high powered breakfast, which is a high protein, low carb breakfast. Start Smart!
