Emanuel Accepts Chief of Staff Position
Illinois Congressman Rahm Emanuel has been chosen by President elect Barack Obama as Obama’s Chief of Staff. This being the first indication of the key players in president elect Barack Obama’s administration.
Congressman Rahm Emanuel is a close friend of President Elect Obama. he has served as Clinton White House Chief of Staff in the 1990s. Congressman Rahm Emanuel has accepted the job.
It marked the first appointment by Obama concerning his White House team since his election as president on Tuesday. Congressman Emanuel is known getting things done or by some for an abrasive and direct style. Yet seem by many as as qualified to serve as Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff.
President Elect Obama stated yesterday of Congressman Emanuel, “No one I know is better at getting things done,”
The No. Four Democrat in the House, Emanuel quoted Obama’s campaign slogan in saying he was leaving a job he loves for one reason: “I want to do everything I can to help deliver the change America needs.”
Congressman Emanuel said he had weighed family and political considerations before accepting the new job as Chief of Staff…he will have to resign his congressional seat and put aside hopes of becoming House Speaker, a life time, personal goal.
