Michael Crichton-Loses His Battle with Cancer

November 5, 2008

Michael Crichton, the million selling author of such historic and prehistoric science fantasies as “Jurassic Park,” “Disclosure,” “Timeline” and “The Andromeda Strain,” died November 4th, 2008 in his Los Angeles home, after losing his battle with cancer…

Crichton died Tuesday at age 66. He was a private man and so was his private battle with cancer.

“Through his imagination and books, Michael Crichton entertained and amused us.

His family has stated that Micheal, challenged scientists in many fields, served as an inspiration to students of all ages and illuminated the mysteries of the world in a way we could all understand.”

I can remember when a friend suggested that I read Jurassic Park and how once started, I didn’t want to put it down. It was an enjoyable and fun read.

My condolences to the family and readers of Micheal Crichton. Battles with dinosaurs and scientists, were no match…those Micheal Crichton could beat. His battle with cancer was harder.

Does the 44th President Already Have to Worry About the 45th

November 5, 2008

President Elect Barack Obama has not even been sworn into office yet as the 44th President and there is already talk about who will be the 45th.

Saturday Night Live even had a skit the other night that showed Sarah Palin and John McCain together and she turns to the camera and whispered that she was going “rogue.” She then held up a “Palin In 2012″ t-shirt and advised the audience not to wear them until after the election.

So, will Sarah Palin emerge to succeed the 44th President and become the first lady prez or is her 15 minutes of fame pretty much over?  There have been other high runners on both the democratic and republican sides that were one campaign wonders and never seen again.

We really have to give Barack Obama his fair dues and the opportunity to show what he can do as President.  But, the talk of who will battle for the office in 2012 will definitely heat up early.  Who do you think it will be?  Maybe Palin will be appointed Secretary of State so that she can get some practice (joke).
