Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens Time to Face Jury For Corruption Crimes

Here we have Alaskan Republican Senator Ted Stevens whose fate and career of 40 years, has come to rests in the jury’s hands, in D.C.. Baby Boomers, it is all over but the fat lady singing…

Senator Stevens’ charge was accepting $250,000 worth of free remodeling work from oil company VECO Corp. executive Bill Allen. The renovations turned his some what modest A-frame house into a two story mansion with wraparound porches and a built in sauna. First he claims he didn’t notice the changes. Then Senator Stevens says he paid the bills that were delivered to him, but didn’t realize he was getting so much free work thrown in.

So, I guess his best defense is Blind and Stupid. And the public is supposed to believe that…even though there are wire taps to prove other wise…sounds like a big pile of polar bear poop to me!

Senator Stevens is still running for re-election and requested a speedy trail. He claims the trail will leave him exonerated of the corruption charges before the election.

At the risk of being redundant…Senator Stevens, 84, is accused of concealing more than $250,000 in gifts and home remodeling services he received from VECO Corp., a once powerful contracting firm. Two top VECO executives have already pleaded guilty to bribing state lawmakers. The executives cooperated with the FBI and provided information about Stevens.

The indictment is the culmination of an FBI investigation that for YEARS has sent tremors through Alaska’s political system. Several state lawmakers have been charged and others, including Stevens’ son, Ben, remain under scrutiny. Quite a little bees nest we have here…everyone bee out for some honey in Alaska. Makes one wonder just how far up the ladder the corruption has traveled…if you catch my drift.
