		<description>In my practice, I see many people who get neck pain because they over-stretch their necks, so be careful.  Stretch frequently, but don&#039;t go so far to create micro-tears in the muscles.  It&#039;s a good idea to hold your head as you stretch, to give support to potentially weak muscles.  

And . . . . be extra careful with head stands.  If you don&#039;t have enough strength and discs are already thinning, you can actually collapse discs as the weight of the body on the neck is a lot.

Here&#039;s one my favorite neck exercises.  Put your hand in front of your nose and draw circles with your nose on your hand.  Go one way and then the other.  Spiral in and out both ways.  This loosens and strengths the suboccipital muscles at the base of the skull.</description>
