Friday the 13Th-Are You Superstitious

Today is NOT Friday the 13Th.

13 Friday the 13Th Are You Superstitious

I do not know if you are superstitious or not…but some Baby Boomers are. In fact, an estimated 17 to 21 million people in the United States, are affected by a fear of this day. There will be some people so paralyzed by fear that they avoid their normal daily routines in doing business, taking flights or even something so basic as simply getting out of bed.

Economically, the U.S. loses an estimated $800 or $900 million is lost in business, on Friday the 13Th. Which is surprising since representatives for both Delta and Continental Airlines say that their airlines don’t suffer from any noticeable drop in travel on those Fridays.

As a majority, in countries that speak German, French and English, Friday the 13 is considered a bad luck day. Yet in Greece, Romania and Spanish speaking countries, it is Tuesday the 13th that is considered unlucky. Italy comes in with their own bad luck day, as Friday the 17th. If you are doing the math here…that only leaves Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday as good luck days…

Both the number thirteen and Friday have been considered unlucky for many years. Despite the reputation of the two separated elements, there is no evidence for a link between the two before the 19th century. The earliest known reference in English occurs in 1869.

I doubt if Friday the 13Th Jason Vorhees, think that it is unlucky. They made millions, at the movie theaters, off peoples fear.

For me…any day that I am not pushing up daisy’s, is a lucky day. Black kitty cats are beautiful and walking under a ladder…simply…just unwise.

Those of you who got out of bed…Have A Great Day!
