The Village People are fondly remembered by many in the 70′s…For such songs as “Macho Man”, “Go West”, the classic club medley of “San Francisco (You’ve Got Me) / In Hollywood (Everybody is a Star)”, “In the Navy”, “Can’t Stop the Music”, “Sex Over the Phone” and their biggest hit, “Y.M.C.A.”

I saw them at Disney World. They were a lot of fun. A great act.

Much todo…when up when it was realized that the group was gay. It didn’t much matter to me…I just liked their music and thought that they were good showmen. simple, catchy songs, great costumes and lots of energy.Earlier this week, after 30 years they finally got their Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Victor Willis, was the group’s original lead singer, who stood apart from the group as they posed with their star. He led the group through its most successful years. Willis left the group in 1984.

Perhaps, you have heard his voice at a Bar Mitzvah. In my opinion, when Willis left the group. that was the end of the Village People, he was the glue to the group.

Kudos “Village People” it is about time! This Baby Boomer has not forgotten you…
