Canadian Brenda Martin, Was The Public Hood Winked

Recently you helped me support Brenda Martin, the Canadian Woman who was being held in a Mexican Jail without due process. I thank you for that.

This past weekend, I happen by chance to meet her live and in person. I said “you look familiar”………..her reply “I’m Brenda Martin the prison lady.” hmmmmm. I responded, that I had garnered several Bloggers around the world to sign petitions for her, to help bring support (though now I consider it a questionable plight).

One has to realize that she was brought home to Canada in a private jet paid for with Canadians hard earned tax dollars. A private jet usually reserved for Canadian members, Government staff and the Canadian Prime Minister.

She was very well dressed, for a casual venue, to which she was in attendance. She could and did not even take the time, to thank me properly. Personally, I found this to be thoughtless and lacking in gratitude.

It is my understanding, that there are plans to make a movie out of her ordeal. This too, I am beginning to find somewhat questionable. Just how much money will she stand to gain from all of this. There is a web site called “Small Dead Animals,” where they all feel like they have been “Hood Winked” by her and quite frankly, I am thinking of joining their opinion.

Please know that I am grateful for your support, however, I am now questioning whether or not I have done the right service and would like to offer my apologies for any waste of time I may or may not have bestowed upon you and your readers.

Dear LillyMarlaine…as you know, here come my 2 cents worth.

I have never known you to be dishonest, in any of your endeavors. And…in fact, I find you to be generous beyond the norm.

What we all did for Brenda, came from the bottoms of our hearts and generosity. Rest assured that what ever one does, is paid back 10 fold. Good or bad.

Guilty of a crime and not having been given a fair day in court are two different cases. Brenda did not have her day in court. People like you, me and the BBAC readers, who see injustice and raise their/our fists against it, may not be remembered in history, but we will sleep better each night, knowing that we did our best to beat injustice.

Who knows what Brenda’s stay in a Mexican prison did to her emotionally. Apparently however, it didn’t help her manners any.

I am glad that you are the person that you are, hoodwinked or not, your compassion and generosity and fight against injustice, is who you are.

Baby Boomers, LillyMarlaine is a dog~assistance trainer, owner and freely spends many hours weekly, assisting this great program. You see her picture all over Canada and the US. It is people like her, and her dogs, that make the world a better place.

Ingrate or not…Brenda Martin was lucky to have had you on her side.
