The hot news today both online and offline is that two men claim that they have found a real Bigfoot in some Georgia woods and that they have the 7 foot creature in a freezer.
There are two problems with this story.
The first problem is that they had the whole country waiting for a much hyped press conference in California but then did not reveal any real evidence, stating that they want DNA tests to be conducted first.
The second problem is that the new practice of creating false stories to gain media attention is far too common to believe a fraction of what these guys are saying. A great example of these false stories is the one not long ago of four young people causing popcorn kernels to pop after surrounding the kernels with their cell phones.
That video set off a surge of stories about cell phones and brain cancer. It turns out that the video was totally faked by a company that made cell phone headsets. So, based on this common trend to lie on the web, it is highly unlikely that these guys have a Bigfoot. The owner of TheHorrorDome.com said that it looks just like one of their halloween costumes.
On the other hand, they did just find over 100,000 gorillas in an area where nobody knew they existed.

What doesn’t make any sense to me is that in the linked page is states that the DNA tests came back part human and 96 percent possum. Is this to say that they have a Bigfoot classification in their DNA reference sheet? Also, are they going to go through countless DNA tests, and just give up when nothing comes back saying “Bigfoot”? Apparently this is a stretch…but they could just dissect the thing.
What are these scientists thinking?
