Tiger Woods Golf Game Handicaped-OUT for the Season

em> Tiger Woods to have season~ending knee surgery…

We all love Tiger Woods and if you don’t…well their has to be something wrong with you or it is just sour grapes!

He is a fine athlete and I for one have never seen him be anything but a gentleman. He is a good family man and a good sport…he is a role model for children, Baby Boomers and adults alike.

I can not tell you what I would do to spend a week in his home on the beach. What a beautiful home. He is indeed blessed with fortune and fame.

I sing his praises loudly.

What I have to tell you now is that we will not be seeing him on the green for the rest of the season.

Tiger Woods will have season~ending surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left knee that he injured 10 months ago.

He also suffered a double stress fracture of his left tibia two weeks before the U.S. Open, ignoring doctors’ advice to take six weeks off to let it heal. And he still won the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, going 91 holes over five days on a knee that was getting worse. This is what athletes do. The game must go on…

Deciding to continue to play against the advise of his doctors has landed in the sand pit, facing surgery. He will face the rest of the year focusing on rehabilitating his knee. A six to eight months recovering process.

He had arthroscopic surgery April 15 to clean out cartilage in his left knee, bypassing ACL surgery with hopes it could get him through the 2008 season. But the stress fracture and a ligament that could no longer sustain a powerful swing made it impossible to keep going.

Tiger Woods impending surgery makes his 14th major title even more staggering and despite the stress fractures, he managed to win a U.S. Open that required five days of flinching, grimacing and a long list of spectacular shots that have defined his career.

Tiger Woods has been a player and fine athlete since a very young athlete. To me it brings up the questions…”do we use up our body?” “Do we put added stress on our bodies when we start young and push it to the limits?” I look at so many young people who started young and in their thirties are hitting bottom, physically.

Tiger Woods I wish you the best and wish that you could have been out there giving the rest of the players a level to pass. Rest up so we, your fan can see more of you.

Your fan…
